“Photoshop” is not only a noun referring to Adobe’s photo editing software but it has become a verb meaning “altering digitally using Photoshop image-editing software.” Now, it’s safe to say that no whatever which software someone uses, we often use the term “photoshopped” for any image-altering done to a digital image. While I’ve personally used Photoshop for years, there’s a program I prefer to use because of a few key factors, including price! Affinity Photo is a more cost-effective program and also offers a user-friendly experience.

Price Comparisons

Adobe Photoshop - $37.99/month

Affinity Photo - $164.99 one-time payment

Affinity photo is the underdog of the photo manipulation world. One of the best reasons to choose Affinity over Photoshop is because it's a one-time purchase rather than Adobe’s subscription. It also shares most of the user interface and tools that Photoshop has. If you have existing PSD files, you can actually open, edit and re-save those files within Affinity as well so if you are collaborating with other Photoshop users, there won’t be many issues with incompatible files.

I share some additional thoughts on this comparison in the video below. Check it out if you’re interested!
